Keynote Address 2: Smart Learning in Smart Cities

Dr Seifedine Kadry, is currently Associate Professor at Beirut Arab University, Faculty of Sciences, Beirut, Lebanon. He worked as Head of Software Support and Analysis Unit of First National Bank where he designed and implemented the data warehouse and business intelligence; he has published several books and is the author of more than 200 papers and 10 books on applied math, computer science, and stochastic systems in peer-reviewed journals. He received a PhD in computational and applied mathematics in 2007 from the Blaise Pascal University (Clermont-II) - Clermont-Ferrand in France. He is an IEEE distinguished speaker, IET Fellow, IETE Fellow, IACSIT Fellow, Google certified Educator and Microsoft Innovation Educator. He is an ABET program evaluator, ACBSP program reviewer and FIBAA expert.

Ahmed Al Musalmi is the Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Oman (NBO). Since his appointment in May 2014 he has been instrumental in transforming NBO, promoting a culture of high performance, entrepreneurship and innovation across the organization. Over more than two decades Ahmed Al Musalmi’s career has included senior leadership roles at organisations including National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Majan International Bank, allowing him to obtain expertise in such areas as retail banking, wealth management, corporate banking, SMEs, trade finance, capital markets, information technology and human resources. Al Musalmi completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Programme in 2013 and holds an MBA with distinction from the University of Luton (now Bedfordshire), UK. He was recently named as one of the top 100 best-performing Chief Executive Officers in the GCC by Trends Magazine and INSEAD Business School.
